Sip Skinny with this Blood Orange Margarita

Skinny Blood Orange Margarita

If you’re anything like us, you know the margarita is the ultimate “kick back and have fun” drink. Try this skinny, colorful twist on the classic.

Blood Orange Margarita

  • Juice from 2 blood oranges (about 1/4 cup)
  • Juice from 2 small limes (about 4 tbsp)
  • 1 tbsp raw honey
  • 2 oz agave tequila
  • 1 oz orange liqueur
  • Splash of carbonated water
  • Coarse sea salt for the rim

Pour a circle of coarse salt into a small plate or saucer. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and press it into the salt, twisting slightly. Fill your glass with ice and set aside.

In a separate container, mix the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and blood orange juice. If you’re using fresh fruit, roll the oranges and limes around with the palm of your hand to redistribute the juice before cutting them open. Measure in the raw honey (do not heat it) and stir until combined. It may take 30-60 seconds to dissolve, possibly longer if the OJ and tequila are chilled. Pour into glass and top with a splash of carbonated water.

Voila! Clink and enjoy.
