Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces baking soda
  • 2 ounces citric acid
  • 1/2 ounces Epsom salt
  • 4 ounces cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons witch hazel
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 30 drops of ginger essential oil

First, combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl. Then, in a smaller bowl, combine the oil, hazel, vanilla extract and essential oil.

Slowly add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients, mixing well with hands. Push mixture into a greased muffin tin or molds and let sit for 24 to 48 hours.

2. Face mask: Hydrating Avocado Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 tip avocado
  • 1 teaspoon plain organic yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Simply mix the ingredients until a smooth paste forms. Apply to face and let sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse well with warm water.

3. Eye cream: Coffee-Infused Eye Cream
Caffeine – when applied topically – tightens the skin, fights free radicals and reduces dark circles, according to blog Hello Glow. Try this eye cream:

  • 1/4 cup beeswax
  • 1/4 cup coffee-infused oil
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon jojoba oil
  • 3 capsules vitamin E
  • 4 to 5 drops chamomile essential oil

Melt the beeswax over a double boiler on low heat. Once melted, mix in the coffee-infused oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil and vitamin E oil. Remove from heat and mix in chamomile oil.

Transfer to a small container and keep in the refrigerator. Use twice a day to see results.

4. Body scrub: Vanilla and Lavender Body Scrub
Exfoliating preps the skin for ultra mositurizing and makes it soft to the touch. Try this body scrub by University Foodie.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup grape seed oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons dried lavender
  • 12 drops lavender essential oil

Mix all ingredients in a medium sized bowl, then store in a jar. Stir well before using in the shower or tub.

5. Detox beverage: Kale and Pomegranate Drink
Kale and pomegranate are both rich in essential vitamins and minerals, perfect for a detox on spa day. Try this beverage by Style Craze:

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch kale leaves
  • Seeds of one pomegranate
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Place the kale leaves and pomegranate seeds in a food processor, mixing until it reaches a smoothie-like consistency. Add pinch of salt and black pepper, and water if necessary. Enjoy over ice.
