Kiss your facial hair goodbye

You might be able to cover up your excess hair in areas that aren't constantly exposed, but when it comes to the fuzz on your face, there's no hiding it. Your face is always on display, and as a result it can seem as though everyone's focus is directed on the hair on your upper lip, chin or sideburns. Don't let fuzz get in the way of your self-confidence. Discretely get rid of it with laser facial hair removal.

Facial smoothness for both genders

The skin on your face is some of the most sensitive on your body, and constantly putting it through harsh hair removal treatments can cause a great deal of irritation – and that’s a concern for both men and women.

Fortunately, there's a treatment that can safely, effectively and permanently reduce the hair, without the harmful effects shaving can have on your skin. Laser hair removal works by targeting the dark pigment of hair right at the root and destroying it on contact. In a matter of minutes, the session is over and you're one step closer to achieving the smooth, beautiful skin you've always dreamed of. There's little downtime involved, meaning you can receive the treatment on your lunch break and immediately get back to your day.

Female laser facial hair removal

Even if most of your female friends have the same issue, fuzz on your upper lip, chin and sideburns can be embarrassing. It can be a major source of insecurity and cause you to refrain from your normal activities or hide your face when anyone gets too close. At Ideal Image, we perform discrete treatments to get you to a perfect level of smoothness and sweep away your facial hair insecurities in some of the most common trouble areas.

Male laser facial hair removal

It's not just women who seek out laser facial hair removal. Men look to alternative forms of hair removal for smooth skin without the itchy regrowth stage and painful bumps that typically form after regularly shaving over stubble. Pseudo folliculitis, the technical term for the condition, happens when hair grows under the skin's surface and results in painful, unsightly bumps. It can be a result of shaving, waxing and tweezing, and can cause severe irritation.

Skip the irritating effects of other hair removal types and choose laser hair removal. You’ll be able to choose the exact areas that you want to maintain perfect smoothness. When you’re well groomed, you feel better – and you also appear more attractive to others.

Our specialized treatment is very discrete, so there's no need to grow the hairs out for treatment. Moreover, the laser hair removal procedures at Ideal Image not only remove hair above the skin, but below the skin as well. The hair is completely removed. As a result there are no longer any dark hairs beneath the skin's surface, sometimes known as the five o' clock shadow. Our Ideal Image facial hair removal procedure only requires about 20 minutes and there's no recovery time. You may return to work or play immediately. Ideal Image can treat any area of the face, upper lip, chin, neck, sideburns and more. Interestingly, the darker the hair the better the results; blonde, red and gray hair do not respond well to the treatment.

Can Ideal Image treat people with darker skin color?

Yes. Every Ideal Image center has two distinct lasers: one for lighter skin, and one for darker skin. No matter how dark the skin, our Gentle YAG laser is considered the gold standard for treating unwanted hair on darker skin types. Its longer wavelength safely bypasses the skin and targets the melanin in the hair shaft, destroying the unwanted hair follicle or root. You will love your results!

Who performs laser facial hair removal procedures?

Laser hair removal is a medical procedure. All laser hair removal treatments are performed by one of Ideal Image's well-trained medical professionals. Each practitioner is extensively trained before performing any treatments. Additionally, a licensed medical doctor serves as a medical director for each individual location, and oversees all treatment and competency of the medical staff.

Coming in for a complimentary Ideal Image consultation is the most important step towards solving your unwanted facial hair problems. Additional Information:
Ideal Image does not perform these procedures

Depilatory creams:
These creams work by dissolving hair at the base of the follicle. They are better suited for widespread and less sensitive areas like the legs, but can be problematic when used on the face because they irritate the skin and often don't remove all of the hair. Like shaving depilatory creams applications must be repeated for life.

Electrolysis Hair Removal:
Electrolysis hair removal is the passing of electric current down a needle and into the skin and hair root to temporarily deaden the hair follicle and impede hair growth. Removing unwanted hair with electrolysis requires more time than laser hair removal because it's a process that treats only one hair at a time, whereas laser hair removal treats many hairs per every laser pulse. Although electrolysis hair removal usually produces results that last longer than waxing and depilatories, it's time consuming, costly, and can be painful due to the one hair at a time process.

Some women choose to tweeze unwanted hairs, but this isn't an ideal solution because repeated plucking can cause irritation of the hair follicle. On darker-skinned women, tweezing may result in scarring. Many report the hair grows back thicker and stiffer. Avoid tweezing or plucking unwanted hair.

This has been one of the most popular solutions for hair removal. Generally, waxing of facial hair is an effective method to remove hair on the upper lip, eyebrows and fine vellus hair on the sideburn area, but it's not recommended for the chin area where hair tends to be coarser. Waxing may also be problematic for darker-skinned women, who sometimes experience discoloration due to irritation and inflammation. Like shaving waxing must be repeated for life.

Home Laser Hair Removal Devices:
When using home laser hair removal systems like the TRIA home laser device, laser hair removal treatment on anything but the smallest of treatment areas will take a considerable amount of time. One reason is because systems like the TRIA home laser hair removal device use smaller treatment heads than what's used on professional laser hair removal machines such as the GentleLASE© or GentleYAG©. Another reason is because professional lasers are powered by 220V whereas systems like the TRIA run on a small battery.

Due to the advanced laser technology at Ideal Image, you will not have to grow your hair out prior to laser hair removal. This is especially important to women who absolutely do not want to be seen with hair on their face in order to receive treatment.
